Bluecadet’s suite of interactive experiences for the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation Discovery Center convey the impact of global challenges and help every visitor change the world.

Telling Personal Stories

Visitors are welcomed to the Discovery Center by life-size interactive video portraits of individuals sharing powerful, personal stories about how the Foundation has improved their lives, from a healthcare worker in India to a struggling single mother in Seattle.

The high-resolution videos, edited and scored by Bluecadet’s in-house production team, put a human face to the Foundation’s work.

Cultivating Global Awareness

The centerpiece of the Discovery Center is a multi-user interactive floor display that leverages touchscreen technology and the extraordinary data collected by the Gates Foundation to create a clear representation of the challenges they face in their mission to help all people lead healthy, productive lives.

Designed to provide an engaging experience for both passive and active users, the animated “Global Challenges” floor map is controlled by intuitive touchscreen tables activated by physical pucks that visitors use to explore issues in greater detail and push their findings to the map.

Staying Connected

To help sustain the Gates Foundation as an institution that’s connected to the world, we created a massive social media touch wall featuring interactive content from thought-leaders and philanthropist around the world, as well as relevant information about current events or activities at the center.

Inspiring Local Action

Bluecadet developed additional interactives designed to educate visitors and help them make a difference in their world: a tablet-based app provides a flexible platform for timely conversations, a popular digital photo booth lets visitors share their experience online, and an engaging multimedia installation helps them consider what they’ve learned, find their passion, and take action.

These meaningful digital experiences help sustain the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation as a proactive institution that’s always current, always connected.
