High level executive or front-line grunt, the challenges of restructuring are faced by everyone. When institutions reconfigure their digital teams, staff at all levels struggle and often suffer. Inspired by their personal experiences, a group of international panelists who have led, experienced and sometimes opposed change, discuss its human costs and how to alleviate them. We will tackle common questions and concerns such as dealing with grief, retaining key staff members and rebuilding good morale. We examine these issues from the perspectives of organisations large and small, and of employees at different levels. We hope to spark a cathartic exchange of experiences and encourage panelists and attendees to share coping strategies that can support colleagues through a change process.
