What does it mean to apply inclusive thinking to the most basic and fundamental practices of acquiring, documenting, classifying, labeling, cataloging and siting objects in the museum? How might an object be made truly accessible? What “best practices” and canonical narratives need challenging and rethinking? How might digital thinking be combined with critical race theory and feminism to inform our approach? This session workshops a toolkit in process which is meant to support teaching in Museum Studies programs as well as to be useful to interested museum professionals.
